"The Annapolis Book of Seamanship" by John Roussmaniere will answer many of your questions. "Boatowner's Mechanical and Electrical Manual: How to Maintain, Repair and Improve your Boat's Essential Systems" by Nigel Calder is invaluable. Another book by Nigel Calder, "Nigel Calder's Cruising Handbook: A compendium for Coastal and Offshore Sailors" looks good, but I haven't seen it personally. If you don't know much about 12 volt DC systems, the "12 Volt Bible for Boats" by Miner Brotherton and Edwin Sherman is helpful. "This Old Boat" is a fine magazine devoted to repair and restoration of older boats. "Practical Sailor" is a good magazine that has tips and equipment and product recommendations.
Congratulations on becoming a boatowner. I don't even know what type or size of anchor it needs. There are no manuals, diagrams, schematics, etc, and I've got a lot to learn. Thanks in advance, Craig _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://liveaboardonline.com/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardonline.com/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
