Norm, you are familiar with the standard "Off-1-2-Both" switch where you
select your battery bank that supplies power for both the house and starter
for the engine.

A duel circuit switch is an "Off-On-Combined" switch where the starter is
wired to a separate isolated circuit with its own dedicated battery. When
the switch is turned to the "On" position both the house and starter
circuits are energized. If the starter battery is weak you can combine the
circuits like the "Both" does on the standard switch. It makes tuning on
and off the power easy, no need to remember or decide which bank to use.

The ACR allows both banks to be charged without having to fool with the
switch.
