I met a user in IRC yesterday that was getting kernel oopses, even with the 6.2 CD. Funny thing was he was using a amd64 machine. I think the x86_64 CD worked alright for him, except that it didn't have support for his SATA drive. I wasn't consistently available yesterday, so I wasn't able to pin down the exact problem.
Since the 6.1.1-X LiveCD doesn't work on i586 and below, I am not surprised if other problems on other systems are also present.
Well, considering the above, I wonder if it would be wise to get the dm changes into the 6.1.1 branch before we tag and release 6.1.1-5. (BTW, looks as if we never tagged 6.1.1-4).
I never tagged or released 6.1.1-4 as it only had a few minor package upgrades and was hopefully going to fix the i586 bug, but this didn't work out. In any case, the 6.2-preX LiveCD has worked well on more systems and building various LFS, CLFS and HLFS systems, so that is the CD to take over shortly. I will start the merges and building of 6.1.1-5 Tuesday and Wednesday, my days off.
