Hi,
Can you send me too, the instructions for runing the LiveCD from a
partition on my hard disk. I want to try it out on my old computer
which does dot support booting from cdrom.I am ready to abide by your
conditions.

Thanks and regards.

You are told that this is a CD-ROM media problem. Try reburning. Using
CD-R media instead of CD-RW sometimes helps.

Bad cable also produces similar errors in dmesg, but you can
differentiate between these cases: the CD-ROM drive makes specific
"re-reading" noise and slows itself down to 1x speed with bad media, and
doesn't do so with bad cable.

If reburning and replacing the cable doesn't help, and you have a free
1.5 GB partition, you may want to run the LiveCD system from that
partition. The (very easy) instructions for doing so will be sent to you
personally on the following condition: you unsubscribe from lfs-support
and blfs-support mailing lists and agree to be banned from #lfs-support
IRC channel for a month.

I have to impose such condition because these instructions were abused
more than once (a person thinks "that's already LFS, let me continue
with BLFS from there" and asks for BLFS support before completing LFS on
his own).
