Hello! I have the problem, that i cannot start the X-Server from the LiveCD (6.2-3). If i do not modify anything, the X-Server starts (changes the console-window), but before i see anything the screen turns black/blank and the system stops. I can't change to console1, i can't stop the Server via Ctrl-Alt-BS, i can only stop the computer by pressing the Poweron-Button. I have the same effect if i take a Knoppix-generated xorg.conf.
My problem is, that i do not know how to debug this. Because i can't see anything. Maybe it would help to redirect the X-Log-Messages or the syslog to a file on my harddisk, so that i could see the messages after a reboot, but i don't know how to do that. Can you help me? My Laptop is a Dell Latitude D810 with a ATI-Graphic-Card and 1680x1050 Screen. Knoppix runs great with the xorg.conf. Thank you!
