I don't think a comparison of the checksum for the .iso and for the sdc device is necessarily a valid comparison but I'm not sure. I mean, unless your .iso and drive are exactly the same size (one would assume they are not), you aren't comparing apples to apples. The checksum of the sdc device would include all of the bits you wrote... plus anything after that on the disk.
