Hi!

Long time I didn't come here, which means everything is going very fine
with lives for me!!!

So, now, there are some news. First, a band asked me to build them a
setup (software + pedalboard) for their videoprojection. It's something
quite simple, only several videos to be launched one after the other,
several of them having sound.

So now, the little problems we get:

- some videos seems to lag a bit. The point is I don't know why, as I
never had such trouble with my own setup. The files aren't that big,
at least much less than mine, they're aren't numerous. What I can say
about them is that they're in wmv format (oh yeah!!!). Don't know
whether it can play in any way. The machines aren't exactly the same,
too, but I would say mine is not much more powerful than theirs. It's
a duo or quad-core, with 4 Gb RAM, I suppose it's enough. How can
track the problem on that point? I was thinking about rt-priorities,
  maybe (see below),

- we also have troubles on videos which have sound in it: when they're
played after a long clip, then the sound doesn't get back to origin
(still we use /clip/retrigger OSC message) until we launch it a second
  time.

Well, that's the only troubles we get, that's not much, actually, but it
would be nicer to fix them.

Now, the last point, for user-friendly reason, I installed them a Tango Studio
distribution, which is based upon Ubuntu Lucid (10.04), which is not
that young. So the version of lives we're using by now, isn't by far the
latest. This might be part of the problem, but I first prefered to use
what was packaged in it.

Well, here it is. Just tell me what you think about all of this.

Aurélien
