Well, I think, if we at some point decide to branch out to mobile (which I don't know if it's a good idea, I'll explain below), then we would at that point have enough resources for doing a mobile port. And at that point, I think it's a very small concern to redo some icons/images to .svg:s if so needed. Another thing is, when you go to mobile, you need entirely different UI's. It's not enough to just take a desktop UI and enlargen all the widgets. If the unpopularity of things like windows 8 and unity has taught us anything, it's that mobile devices and desktop computers need different interfaces. You can't expect one interface to work well in two wildly different form factors. So we'd end up redoing a large part of the UI graphics anyway, regardless of if they're in SVG format or not. Then there's the question of whether it's a good idea to go for mobile. It seems like a trend these days, everyone must go at mobile! But must they, really? There's already lots of competition in the mobile space, there are audio "apps" on mobile platforms, and the competition on mobile is fierce. What kind of serious audio work can you even do on a tablet? I think it's better to focus the limited resources we have on making a good desktop application. Let's not fall into the same trap so many projects have fallen in recently, running after trends... Anyway, right now there isn't any SVG support implemented yet for the UI, so we're stuck to using PNG for now anyway. But I think it's a good idea to make most simple graphics in SVG form, things like icons and such, and keep the SVG's handy for future use. That's what we already did with the LED graphics. I'm not going to mandate using vectors though, if anyone wants to contribute to the UI development by making bitmaps, that's fine with me. And there's also some things that are simply better to do as bitmaps, like plugin artwork - and if there comes a time we need larger versions of them, we can cross that bridge then. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CenturyLink Cloud: The Leader in Enterprise Cloud Services.
