I'm not talking about preferred use. Just because some people use baseball
bats for killing people doesn't mean that merging the gun and the baseball
bat is a good idea. The individual objects have their specialized uses. I'm
talking about where the actual power of the workflow is concentrated. A
specialized workflow is better at its specialization than a general
workflow would be. Many consider FL Studio some of the best (if not the
best) for a composition workflow because of its focus in that area. LMMS
has a very similar focus and a very similar workflow, leading it to be
better than many commercial DAWs for composition. The only way to maintain
the power there is to have two modes or a tabbed interface or some such,
and again, why is that better than having two separate programs?
