Hi, SRU is very hard to do. (getting the Ubuntu package fixed in the repos) It takes a very long time, since they are overloaded with work. (i.e. may or may not happen)
Building a deb file is easy from a ppa. I have some already.. at least x86_64 version. Utopic already has a better version in it. I have been very busy recently. Sorry for not answering much sooner.
