Well, this depends if the user base focuses on features or stability.  Most
musicians I know can live without a feature or two, but they can't live
with software that crashes.  Furthermore, the backwards compatibility
issues certainly can destroy productivity when upgrading frequently.

I don't see much benefit in additional releases other than the fact that
with major core changes it could allow us to stage some of those changes
and weed out the bugs in a more controlled fashion.
