Not to pick a fight here, but what part of my statement required a "not
exactly" correction?

AFAIK Carla doesn't yet run on Windows at all, so bundling for Windows
> is right out until/unless someone ports it for Windows.


Correct.  It would require some OS-specific code changes as well as PPA
binaries.  I also agree it's usefulness on non-Linux platforms is yet to be
determined.
