Hi everyone,
I have been watching this thread, and I thought...
Hey we already have a splash screen. We don't really need more popping up.
>From the UX standpoint, I think a simple offline wiki included in the
Help menu would be good.

Maybe have a few extra items in the menu:
Tutorials
FAQ

Maybe even have a robust help menu with items for each topic.
I know this may require more coding, but seriously... programmers are
awesome at programming.
Documentation people are awesome at documenting.
If these two areas can be connected in a coherent non-invasive way I
would love it.
I know when I first started using LMMS there were things I would have
liked to know. The current (and former) help menu is rather lame.
There is basically no offline documentation included in the program....
I think good documentation and easy access from the menu would be better.

I think a pop-up (like Tres) is a very bad idea.
I do think BETTER and more VISIBLE help is the actual UX problem.
There are plenty of use cases to support this. And coming from the
Ubuntu standpoint, if LMMS is included, then the user didn't even
download it, and may not have internet.

P.S. you guys rock!
