well, we finally have a compulsive reason for adding LV2 support now :)
we should probably really go with LV2 then.

meh. i don't want to create a completely own format; i'd prefer if other
programs can at least partially use the functionality (e.g., without the
native gui, and with the user being required to wire up the "beat" track
on his own rather than automatically).
