Hi, I would like to record my bass (a real bass instrument) with Muse3. I have never done hard disk recording before. A friend of mine gave me a Behringer Guitar Link (guitar usb interface) UC6102. I told him that this device will probably not work under Linux/Ubuntu Studio.
But I thought "Let's give it a try" and plugged it into my computer while Muse3 (latest version from the git repository) was running. Then I created two tracks in Muse3: a) an Input track b) a Wave track I ensured that both tracks refer to the same channel. Then I increased Gain in the Wave track, clicked the Record and Play button and played on my bass. But nothing was recorded in the Wave track. --- The Behringer Guitar Link gets detected in my Ubuntu Studio 16.04.2 installation: This is the output of dmesg: === Quote Beginning === [ 2973.654059] usb 6-3: new full-speed USB device number 2 using ohci-pci [ 2973.807405] usb 6-3: New USB device found, idVendor=08bb, idProduct=2902 [ 2973.807413] usb 6-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [ 2973.807416] usb 6-3: Product: USB Audio CODEC [ 2973.807419] usb 6-3: Manufacturer: Burr-Brown from TI [ 2973.816532] input: Burr-Brown from TI USB Audio CODEC as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:13.1/usb6/6-3/6-3:1.3/0003:08BB:2902.0004/input/input8 [ 2973.868574] hid-generic 0003:08BB:2902.0004: input,hidraw3: USB HID v1.00 Device [Burr-Brown from TI USB Audio CODEC ] on usb-0000:00:13.1-3/input3 [ 2974.167403] usbcore: registered new interface driver snd-usb-audio === Quote End === This is the content of /proc/asound/cards: === Quote Beginning === 0 [Live ]: EMU10K1 - SB Live! 5.1 SB Live! 5.1 (rev.7, serial:0x80641102) at 0xcf00, irq 20 1 [CODEC ]: USB-Audio - USB Audio CODEC Burr-Brown from TI USB Audio CODEC at usb-0000:00:13.1-3, full speed === Quote End === The command arecord -L shows among other things: === Quote Beginning === plughw:CARD=CODEC,DEV=0 USB Audio CODEC, USB Audio Hardware device with all software conversions === Quote End === So the Guitar Link device is recognized as a sound (card) device by Ubuntu Studio 16.04.2 But in the "Connections" window, on the "Audio" tab, of qjackctl the Guitar link device is not shown. --- Is there a way to record my bass with Muse3 using the Behringer Guitar Link device?
