I set both the input and the output device in the qjackctl settings to the entries which refer to the Behringer Guitar link sound (card) device. This Guitar Link creates two entries for both the input and the output device to be selected. I tried all possible combinations of these two entries for both the input and output device, but it does not work. I even set qjacktctl to "only recording", but this did not work, too. So it is very likely that it is not possible to record an external instrument using the Behringer Guitar Link under Linux, not only with MusE as the frontend programme. I will try to record my bass via the Line-In slot of my soundcard, but therefore I need an adapter to connect the bass cable with the Line-In slot. I do not have such an adapter yet, but soon I will have such an adapter. Thanks, Robert, for your other explanations. About my SoundBlaster Live 5.1 soundcard: > As I recall it works best when you run it at 48khz. The installation routine of Ubuntu Studio 16.04.2 has set it to 44100 Hz on my machine, I will leave it that way because jack seems to run stable so far. Regards, Jens Am Freitag, 30.
