It's about an open source translation tool that appears to be compatible with Trados, the tool that Alpha uses. Sounds interesting, and might be very helpful in maintaining consistency, and developing a strong points:
- runs on Java, so virtually platform independent
- works with OOo documents directly
- works with translation memories in TXM format, which is supposedly compatible with most commercial translation tools
Being in the translation business for 8 years now, I feel ashamed not knowing this tool. Anyway, I will certainly investigate on its possibilities and report on it if anyone is interested.
