Hello everyone! I'm the current official contact for Ubuntu Colombia and we had an embarrassing situation just this week.
Someone within the team requested the LoCo material to shipit, the material was approved and sent to this person who didn't get the DHL mail and never showed up to reclaim the pack. Obviously the material was sent back to Canonical causing unnecessarily lost money. First of all, my apologies for this situation, I'm responsible because I should have made clear to everyone in the team that the material should be requested by me and no one else. The person in question didn't mean to harm but obviously it was a bad call. However, what gets my attention is that the material was approved and sent to a person that belongs to the community but it seems is not even at launchpad. I had the understanding that the only one who was able to request material from Canonical through ship-it was the official contact. Is that right? Am I wrong? What can we do to prevent this type of things in the future?. I don't want that our entire team gets further requests rejected because of this mistake and obviously we'd need material, we've got a fairly big number of events the whole year so the material is really needed. To sum up, my apologies for the inconvenience caused by this situation, I take full responsibility, and please clarify to us if anyone can request material from Canonical or if only the official contact is allowed to. Thank you so much, Andres Mujica on behalf of ubuntu-co
