Actually, I must correct myself. The current plan does call for some kind of rollover work, which Kevin is listed as owning.
http://jakarta.apache.org/log4j/docs/plan.html I don't know how that intersects the CompositeRollingAppender code. And, the page I was looking at for committers, was actually contributors.
