java.lang.ThreadDeath caused by log4j when reloading Tomcat app

It doesn't solve the problem for me either.
Furthermore I think that a shutdown() of log4j can't bring the expected
behavior. Indeed Tomcat classes use lo4j too (through commons-logging) and would
need to log after a contextDestroyed() method of a context listener has been called.
