I put a proposal to move log4j over to JIRA a while back, but it did not seem to go down well. We've been using JIRA here at work for a while now, and I get so frustrated with any Bugzilla I have to deal with now.
But I'll support whatever this community wants. I understand that it is a distraction from log4j work (and frankly I don't have a lot of time for that at the moment), but I think moving to JIRA is a better long term move for the community.
There was a recent discussion on [EMAIL PROTECTED] about the incubation status of log4cxx and log4net. One of the issues was the current lack of a bug reporting mechanism for log4net. It doesn't appear that log4php has a bug reporting mechanism either. If log4net or log4php adopted JIRA, it would be good to have log4j migrate so the logging projects would be consistent.
I assume the infrastructure team is pretty adept at migrating Bugzilla databases. I wouldn't do it in the middle of a iteration but at the next alpha might be ok.
