Well, I guess there is not strict definition of "release" in the bylaws that I see, but since it was going to be posted/linked on the logging download page (as opposed to any of the rc's I have ever built) I thought the committers would like to be in the loop.  Just putting stuff in the build area obviously doesn't need any kind of vote.  Putting it on the download page makes it a lot more "official".

Regardless, I will be moving it to the "release" area for proper downloading after the voting time period is expired.  If anyone wants to object, now is the time.

We need to start coordinating the main efforts for the 1.3 release.  I doubt we are going to make the original off-the-cuff November/December estimate.  :-)  But let's start looking at what it will take to get going and off the ground towards beta.

thanks,
-Mark

Hi,
+1, and I also don't think we need a vote to release an alpha (or beta, or RC)
build, only a vote on declaring something stable.
