help at all by I appreciate the appreciation ;)

I'd go mongrel cluster + Apache if it was me. Here's a tutorial I  
found quickly. Haven't gone through it yet to see if the tutorial's  
any good but it's the setup I would go for if I was setting up a  
rails production server.
