*blush* as I am a Red Hat girl, what is used in other distributions for
creating initrd images? I know mkinitrd can be used on any system, though
it is a RH "thing", but is something else used for other distros?

Yes, I beleive it is necessary to include both iptables and ipchains. The
introduction of one has not totally obsoleted the other. Just as various
tcp_wrappers stuff is still used in various places (for reasons unknown to
some sysadmins) I think both iptables and ipchains will be an issue for
some time.

One of the issues you might be feeling from reading these tasks is that
these tasks were written originally last year. Various resources and
conflicts however, delayed moving forward until this year, which as you
know the rate of Linux' development means a lot has already changed or
been added.

This is something we must consider when reviewing the objectives to make
them as current as possible. PLEASE do not hesitate to comment if you see
a specific in an objective or task that has since been obsolted, updated,
changed, or added to.
