Folks, Based on previous discussions, I'm assuming that where LPIC-1 and CompTIA Level I objectives overlap, we should address topics of at least equivalent difficulty.
One of the directions of the CompTIA Linux+ exam in documentation is a vague reference to "best practices." In their case, what config files should a sysadmin backup or print out and store securely (which seems to be a reference to disaster planning). With respect to user support, Linux+ points to this as a first step in troubleshooting skills, with some vague notions of getting as much information as possible from the user (or his computer).
