Sort of.  The CLE is _not_ modeled off of the CNE.  It is modeled off of
the CDE -- Certified _Directory_ Engineer.

Unlike the CNE, which is like the Cisco Certified Design/Network
Professional levels -- a series of 3-4 tests beyond their respective
Associate/Administrator levels with multiple-choice Q&A, pick'n orderign
and even a few simple simulations -- the CDE and CLE are _completely_
_virtual_labs_ where you are running muliple virtual environments on a
computer to simulate a _product_ environment.

So you can think of the CDE and CLE as like the RHCE, only with virtual
computers instead of physical ones.

BTW, I think the CNE is also a pre-requisite of the CLE, just like the
CDE.
