As an example of what I was discussing... Original objective ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------
210.1 DHCP configuration Candidates should be able to configure a DHCP server. This objective includes setting default and per client options, adding static hosts and BOOTP hosts. Also included is configuring a DHCP relay agent and maintaining the DHCP server. Key Knowledge Areas * DHCP configuration files, tterms and utilities S * ubnet and dynamically-allocated range setup The following is a partial list of the used files, terms and utilities: * dhcpd.conf * dhcpd.leases ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------- I have now rewritten thes objectives with action verbs. New objectives. ------------------------- Candidates *demonstrate* their ability to configure a DHCP server by *selecting* the correct configuration from a sample of four similar configurations. (only one is correct). The correct configuration will include default gateway and DNS server configurations. Candidates *identify* the correct syntax for entering static hosts and BOOTP hosts from a selection of examples. Candidates *choose* a configuration for DHCP relay agent from a set of examples. Candidates *select* several sources that will assist them to maintain and debug a DHCP server. (man page, log files, enabling debug levels) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- A test writer could now take those objectives and easily write online questions to effectively measure them. regards _________________________________________________ Daryl Moon, IT & Business Adviser TVET Sector Strengthening Project c/o Vanuatu Institute of Technology Port Vila, VANUATU mobile: +678 49620
