That's what Fedora is for. ;) Remember, RHEL is targeted to paying customers. What people are willing to pay for, and want SLAs, is what drives what does or does not go in RHEL. > Good thing I use debian. Again, Fedora? ;) Fedora is not bound by the same "product" issues that RHEL releases are. > Would CentOS be like RHEL, then? > (if you know). I've not looked closely at CentOS so > I'm not certain if they deviate or really do ape RHEL. I cannot speak for CentOS, especially given who I work for. But CentOS does strive for bit-by-bit compatibility with RHEL, per their goals. I can attest that they do a pretty good job. In fact, Johnny Hughes regularly has to remind people that deviation will never be an option they will expore. They have CentOS "Plus" and other things, but largely it's RHEL bit-by-bit, with other things provided by either Fedora's EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux) or the various RPM Forge-aligned repositories. _______________________________________________ lpi-examdev mailing list lpi-examdev@lpi.org http://list.lpi.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/lpi-examdev
