I am having some problems with an hp 4+ hooked to a Cylclades serial
board on
RedHat 6.1, lprng 3.6.22, ifhp 3.3.17.
Here it is:
I am using lpf for the hp 4+ printers on serial connections because ifhp
does not seem to work with them. ( I am sure I am doing something wrong)
The problem with using lpf is it does not do the pjl encapsulation.
auto2|HP Laserjet 4+ on serial port

:if=/usr/local/libexec/filters/lpf
:lp=/dev/ttyC4
I had to put the fq in to get the thing to print each job on a separate
page...
when I change the filter to ifhp I get NO response from the printer.
The printer is actually an HP Laserjet 4 Plus which I seem to recall is
what ifhp defaults to as far as the model goes.
I have duplicate printer but with an ASP jet direct card in it that
works PERFECTLY with the ifhp filter. This would lead me to belive I
have missed something when it comes to serial printers with ifhp.
Sorry to be so long winded.
Any pointers to the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
