I've installed the latest version of LPRng and ifhp (3.6.24, 3.3.21) to
get the entry for the HP2500CM which was not available on my previous
installation. I've updated my printcap file to reflect the name changes
for the various printers for the 'ifhp=model=' option. All the printers
work as before. So far so good.
I then added the entry for the HP2500CM and have not been able to print to
it. I include my entry here.
.stdserv

.stdclnt

.stdfltr

:cm=F-wing HP Color DeskJet 2500CM
:tc=.stdserv,.stdfltr
:lp=aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd%9100
:ifhp=model=hp2500cm
lp13|fcolor2|fwhpcol2:client
:cm=H-wing HP Color DeskJet 2500CM
:tc=.stdclnt,.stdfltr
:rp=lp13
:ifhp=model=hp2500cm
With lpq, I can see that it makes several attempts to print and then it
eventually says
Printer: lp13@slowpoke 'F-wing HP Color DeskJet 2500CM'
Queue: no printable jobs in queue
Status: removing job 'kmt@slowpoke+841' - JREMOVE at 11:22:17.928
Filter_status: (of) no response from printer at 11:22:17.922
and nothing comes out of the printer.
I'm afraid I don't know how to exploit the debug capabilities of LPRng,
else I would have provided more information. Can someone point out what
I'm doing wrong or at least give me some hints how I can further debug the
problem?
