Hi,

I'm using RH6.2 with LPRng-3.6.24-1 (from rpm package) and HP 4000N. I've
been having none of the problems you describe. I remember having
some problems with a line like

  :lp=LPT1_PASSTHRU@test-printer

and had to use either rm,rp combo or the %9100 with the lp option but I
can't remember what the problem was exactly.

Here's my printcap entry, maybe it will help...

ccmps:
# :rm=ccmps.cudenver.edu:rp=raw
    :lp=132.194.16.152%9100
    :ab
    :af=/var/spool/lpd/%P/accounting.log
    :bp=/usr/libexec/filters/pclbanner
    :as=JOBSTART $H $n $P $k $b $t
    :ae=JOBEND $H $n $P $k $b $t
    :of=/usr/libexec/filters/ifhp
    :sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P
    :lpd_bounce
    :ifhp=model=hp4000
    :ifhp=of_options=pagecount waitend
    :filter=/usr/libexec/filters/ifhp

YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST
The address you post from MUST be your subscription address

If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests
or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body. For the impatient,
to subscribe to a list with name LIST, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
with: | example:
subscribe LIST <mailaddr> | subscribe lprng-digest [EMAIL PROTECTED]
unsubscribe LIST <mailaddr> | unsubscribe lprng [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If you have major problems, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word
LPRNGLIST in the SUBJECT line.
