Lately some people have taken it upon themselves to print PS files to our lineprinter. This has been getting on my nerves, obviously. The only filter I'm currently using is 'lpf', but this filter doesn't guard against this type of thing. ifhp doesn't allow for text-only printers. Ghostscript could do it, I suppose, but it's not worth it as most of the PS accidentally being sent would be useless converted to ASCII. Can anyone tell me 1) is it possible to use lpf and a filter that detects/rejects PS? Is if=detector/rejector of=lpf the way to do this? 2) does anyone know of a filter that isn't all-powerful (like ifhp) that is simple, and to the point -- looks to detect anything non-ASCII, rejects that stuff, and if the job is ASCII, does CR/LF stuff on it? Any help would be appreciated, 'cuz frankly I'd rather not re-write something to do this when I'm sure everyone has done it already. ---- _ _ _ _ ___ _ _ _ |Y#| | | |\/| | \ |\ | | | Ryan Novosielski - Jr. UNIX Systems Admin |$&| |__| | | |__/ | \| _| | [EMAIL PROTECTED] - 973/972.0922 (2-0922) \__/ Univ. of Med. and Dent. | IST/ACS - New Jersey Medical School - C630 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST The address you post from MUST be your subscription address If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body.
