Thanks. iBook send postscript file over, and I can find them in the spool
directory. Magicfilter is supposed to use "file" to determine its file
type and convert it to PCL that the HP LJ can use.

I just installed linux on the iBook and the printing works fine. I
commented
out the "if=/usr/share/masterfilter" line in the ibook and the lpr send raw
files over to the print server, which then converted them properly for the
printer. So, it appears now that the problem lies in the Mac OSX lpr
printing.
I could not find anything on Mac OSX print configuration. But is there a
way
in the lprng to ensure that the spool file pass through the filter? There
is no OSX driver for LJ 1100.

Thanks again.
