I chickened out and used lprngtool and the included filter instead. Now the printing works fine. Thanks. Magicfilter is nice because it automatically convert a variety of file format to the proper printer file. So you can "lpr *.tif" or "lpr *.pdf" directly. I need to find out where it went wrong.
