I don't know boo about Mac, but I've tried compiling stuff
on Linux where I think the library is present at the
compile fails. Typically, it is a case of not finding
include files. The solution here is usually to install
the package-dev package, which usually has the header
files and any other magic needed. Maybe Mac runs the
same way?
