I have had similar problems at times printing from ghostview.  It seems to have
problems at times outputting good postscript.  Since you can print the entire file
with no problems, I would doubt it's LPRng.

Another test you could try would be to save the marked pages to a file instead of
printing them, then print them from the command line.  Does the same error occur?
