Hmm, I don't have that problem with my Xerox 4400DT. When LPRng launches the accounting utility, then the printer is already in printing state. If there is any delay, it must be incredible small, as I have sent one page only and then the printer went directly to printing state as soon as the data started flowing. My application also requires the state to be stable for 5 seconds (configurable) before trusting it.
