Hello all,
Apparently, recently someone posted a “sensitive” document to one of the
lsst lists and it was disseminated to several other project members who
were subscribed. Please be aware that all postings to lsst lists are
potentially “open” and you should assume that anyone who can google can
see them. Lsst-data in particular, is INTENDED to be open for read to
anyone (but you have to be subscribed to post). Bottom line is, if you
think it is “sensitive” in some way, don’t post it.

Tony, Don, Steve,
I don't think this is a good solution in the long run. While
I can see why some lists should be open, and I can understand
that extremely sensitive information can be exchanged by private
mail or by phone, we need to have a method to exchange _and_
archive LSST information that is _not_ appropriate for the whole
world to see. The easiest and simplest solution would be to prevent
google & world to see our lsst-* lists.
Cheers,
Zeljko
