I take your point. OK, maybe I cannot expect 1024x1024 with 16 bit
colour, but this very same machine has only a couple of weeks ago been
running Windows 95 with higher resolution than 640x480 and higher colour
depth than 8 bit. I would be happy with 800x600 or 1024x864 with 16 bit
colour but I cannot believe that 640x480 with 8 bit is the best it can do.
I'm afraid I cannot confirm what Windows had the display set as since the
reason I have this machine available is because the hard disk is trashed.
