I have
done this before with no problems. How did you create the floppy
disk? If you just copied the file to the floppy, that will not work.
I am guessing you downloaded the file fro Rom-o-matic site. On the page
where you get the files it tells you what to do:
"To make a bootable floppy on a
GNU/Linux system, put a formatted floppy in your floppy drive and do:
$ cat eb-5.0.5-yournic.lzdsk > /dev/fd0
On a DOS/Windows system, use the RAWRITE program to write the .lzdsk image to a formatted floppy. RAWRITE is available on most GNU/Linux installation CDs or on the web. "
If you did this and it still doesn't work, try another floppy (I have had them go bad and not work). If it still doesn't work, then it is probably a bad floppy drive or cable.

Subject: [Ltsp-discuss] can't load
dear all,
I use ltsp3.0. I've set up all the necessasy configuration files needed based on the documentation provided.
I used a floppy disk to try it out. I loaded the file eb-5.0.5-3c509.lzdsk to the disk. On my 486 box. There's only a floppy drive connected. (I disconnected the cables from the board to the harddisk) and configure the BIOS accordingly.
I used a BNC cable and an old 3C509 card.
I started the server, turned on the workstation but what i got was only a message saying:
Invalid system disk
Replace the disk, and press any key when ready..
I suspected that the cable was the trouble. Since the card is an old 3COM card, there's no led indicating that it worked properly. BUt the card was O.K. How can I test the connector of the cable?
I used a 8-port minihub. And the BNC-led didn't turn on when I started the workstation.
Or was it anything else?
I really need help.
thanks,
