Shane,

I'm working on a flash disk to replace the hard disk.

The idea is remove the moving parts.  My laptop has a 2nd
battery that can replace the floppy/cdrom.  So, with 
2 batteries and no harddrive, I expect the laptop to
last about 12 hours between recharges.
