Please find at the following URL the 3com setup/testing tool for 3c509 EtherLink III cards, running under dos: ftp://ftp.ihg.uni-duisburg.de/Hardware/3com/3c5x9n/3C5X9CFG.EXE I hope it will work all right even if the ethernet card is built in the motherboard. I quote from the Ethernet-HOWTO: 3c509B users should use either the supplied DOS utility to disable the plug and play support, and to set the output media to what they require.
