Apt: Yep, apt is now available for Redhat/Mandrake and others. It's very easy to set up your own repository inside your organization and and you get the world-class RPM installation wisdom that has kept Debian users happy for a long time. EVEN BEFORE THE DOWNLOADS BEGIN, apt already knows what can, and cannot, be installed. And, it knows how to fix odd problems in RPM installs. THIS IS THE TICKET OUTTA DEPENDENCY HELL. I can't overstate how wonderful this tool is. See http://www.freshrpms.net. GTK Switcher: this little tool is a redux of the Sawfish/etc gtk theme changer. I'm not cheerleading this tool specifically, but the use of GTK themese to pep up the desktop. The themes from themes.org are now living on Freshmeat.net, and many of them are fantastic. "Deuglification HOWTO". Get over to Google.com and search for this. It tells you how to clean up those fonts, and get all your screens slick and happy for the users. It's very complete, and very effective. Is this internet reachable?
