That iptables is not working is NOT the cause of the display manager problem. Iptables is a firewall, but since it is not running, it cannot block the X traffic. > - "netstat -ap | grep xdmcp" deosn't give anything The display manager is probably not running. Install and configure a display manager: xdm, kdm or gdm are the most commonly used alternatives (I use kdm myself). After installing the display manager, you might want to re-run the LTSP intialization scripts since these scripts automates the configuration.
