I utterly conceed your opinion to you <smile>, but I totally dis-agree. I've installed LTSP on literly 100's servers from old-isa to latest MBs. It has never been so easy as it is now. I use PXEstuff to boot all PXE and the bootrom to boot all others. No kernels to fuss, no X to fuss (why are you using X-3.6 ?), just smooth plain sailing, and with 4.x being OS independant it looks as if it would be even easier (without lib fusses). So I would very much like to see how your install is failing. I think that logging in to the client and running start_ws and watching the result logs is very easy to do.
