A number of you surgested using cygwin to run a remote X session
using a windows box. So what do you give to x.
X -query 192.168.0.31
works fine on my linux box to bring up a remote session on my thin client
server.
x -query 192.168.0.31
crashes complely thowing some strange error about request from 0.0.0.0
into the xdm-errors file
x -query 192.168.0.31 -from 192.168.0.77
does not work but kills the grey screen that comes up and windows trys it
in a different size and shape.
We are mostly planning to run thin clients (Jasmins bought from
Optima we hope details on request) but one or two people will still be
using windows (accounts, voice recording etc) and we would like to be able
to let them access the linux based main system from there windows boxes
without rebooting.
So what parameters do I need to pass to cygwin x?
Thanks anyone?
Peter Childs
