Just a thought, I know TinyDNS resolves hostname to IP for client but it can also do a round-robin effect for serving addresses and therefore load balance the servers. Of course it wont take server load into account but its a nice crude way of balancing. I wonder if the 'Linux Director' or 'Linux Virtual Server' project (like CISCO Local Redirector) can be adapted to point clients at LTSP servers rather than Apache.
