I think I have figured it out via experimentation. I changed the mount
statement from 'mount -n -o ro,...<snip>' to 'mount -t nfs -n -o
ro,...<snip>' and things magically started working. I don't know what's the
deal, but I figured I would be as explicit as possible with the mount
command to see if I could get any output at all... and viola, it started
working.

Thanks to all for your assistance!

Hi,

I still have some suggestions, although they might be pretty far fetched
... You should try to get a terminal station near your server and link
just them together (using a crossover cable or disconnecting all your
other hosts from your hub/switch), This way you can try DHCP on its
standard port, probably u have some kind of a firewall or some equipment
acting smarter that is should be (example: managed switch with some
"funny" rules), this should be enough to realize if it's something that
has to do with your network topology.
You should also try a different release of LSTP packages.

You should get a messages like these:

Feb 11 00:40:08 snow dhcpd: DHCPACK on 192.168.0.2 to 00:60:94:05:3f:e1

Try to see if you have access from /etc/host.allow /etc/hosts.deny,
check to see whether you have proper access permissions, if all of your
directories where given right attributes when exported (exports.conf)
and see if your partitions where mounted in a way that allow the
execution (noexec, nodev, nosuid), finally use a debugger (strace for
example) for your local portmapper to see what happens you boot the
terminal.

Also try my attached image ;) it's a stupid trick, might work.

success, now I'm hitting the bed (it's 1:30AM over here), tell me what
you have done, I'll read/respond in the morning.

PS: Cool trucks:)
