While my response was to your e-mail, I did not mean it to be to your
situation. I do not know if you mentioned this or not, I simply
assumed you were in a school situation as well. My comments still
apply to a school situation; but in your situation I agree wholeheartedly
that the kiosk should be locked down as tightly as possible and it should
be limited to its one purpose, be it web browsing or whatever.

Perhaps I should rephrase myself. My first words were rather strong
and do not accurately convey what I was trying to say.

It is my belief that if all is in order in regards to system security,
it is very unlikely that anything bad will happen. In particular, I
doubt that in a school a bunch of teenagers will be able to cause
damage on a linux machine.
Mmmmmh, I most certainly wouldn't trust a bunch of teenagers!

But then again, if they manage to hack a school server, it is called "education", instead of "damage" ;) !

Back to the subject: has anyone setup an LTSP chroot jail yet and wants to share their work?
