System is RH 7.3 and five LTSP terminals, 3 of which are Deskpro 4000 with
Cirrus Logic 4MB video and 3Com 905B cyclones replacing the onboard
Thunderlan NIC.
With ltsp-3.0.1 and RH7.2, the Deskpro terminals were performing well at
1024x768x16bpp. Upgraded OS to RH7.3 and upgraded ltsp core and xcore to
3.04.
The non-Deskpro terminals continue to operate normally. However, after the
upgrade, the Deskpro terminals failed to start X (black screen and the
display's front panel lights flashing). My problem is that switching to VT1
on the terminal to see the error message -- no error is given. All of the
XFree86 monologue looks perfectly normal and correct. In particular, 4096
bytes of video detected.
Tried specifying 4096 for video, nil fix.
So I specified 800x600 in lts.conf. This fixed it. But I want the higher
display resolution that I had before the upgrade.
Can someone say what is going on here?
